Veterinary Advice & Coaching in Quality Assurance on dairy farms
FAQs

Frequently asked questions:

1.Why does the site sometimes gives an error when I use the "go to previous page" - and "go to next page"-buttons in the internet explorer toolbar?
To navigate through the programme you should only use the navigation buttons of the site itself (e.g. the "previous" and "save" hyperlinks in the left-under corner of the site).

2.From an extension organisation or any industry (not being a private veterinary practice) These means that only governements , large cooperatives or industries like labs will be in these case. Please when you make your registration as consultant veterinarian do not click on these otherwise you will be charged much higher.

3. Will the SWOT sheets provide me with solutions for problems detected in a respective domain?
No not at all, SWOT sheets aim at structuring your search for hazards and risks in that problem area. Your veterinary skills and qualities are predominant in solving that problem; the SWOT sheets provide you with a guideline and inventory instrument. They are part of the development of a HACCP-like programme of quality risk management.

4. Can I use SWOT sheets on small farms of -say- 20 to 30 cows (after all, I can not calculate percentages on too small numbers!!)?
Sure yo can use the SWOT sheets on small farms In that case you use them as guideline in order not to forget items in your search for hazards and risks, but the data must not be entered in the programme for percentages will not be realistic.

5. Are the SWOT sheets to be used as stand-alone instruments?
Preferably they should NOT be used as stand-alone instrument, but rather as an instrument integrated in e.g. a veterinary herd health & production management programme, or as is the case on this website, as integrated part of a quality risk management programme.

6. Can I not solve a herd problem without these SWOT sheets?
We sure hope you can! However, in the context of a HACCP-like programme some key-words prevail: structuring, formalisation, planning & organisation. SWOT sheets respond to the formal question of a structured inventory, needed for planning of activities and orgnisation.
